TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE (TLO):

TLO#1: The students will learn how to conduct screening operations with a walk through and hand-held metal detector and identify threats

EPO #1:  Recall the theory of WTMD operation.

EPO #2:  Identify the basic characteristics of WTMD and HHMD units.

EPO #3:  Operate the WTMD and HHMD.

EPO #4:  Identify the different features of the WTMD and HHMD.

EPO #5:  Describe the set up and calibration guides and their application

EPO #6:  Describe the WTMD settings guide and its application.

EPO #7:  Describe the safety considerations of the WTMD and HHMD.

EPO #8: Conduct WTMD and HHMD screening for threats

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to introduce the student to the walk-through metal detector (WTMD) and hand-held metal detector (HHMD).  It includes identification of the various models, when to use, safety considerations, operation, calibration, and proper scanning procedures.  The classroom instruction and student-centered learning environment will provide the basis for development of the effective use of the WTMD.

This course is very effective at improving your security staff’s ability to detect threats and provides you with actual performance measurements that detail how effective your security operations are at detection threats.

The instructor travel cost is included in the course cost but for USA locations only.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: Must be familiar with the checkpoint screening equipment

EQUIPMENT: Must have access to facilities screening equipment, SOP, and emergency action plan

TESTING: Written test

CERTIFICATE: Certificate of Training for x-ray image interpretation

INSTRUCTION QUALIFICATION:

• Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Certified Instructor
• OEM certified on the WTMD and HHMD systems
• S. Marshal (retired) or Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician
• Completed Inter agency Security Committee (ISC) training and certifications

Training course cost does not include instructor travel to your location and a quote can be provided. Travel cost as based on GSA perdiem and travel rates.
