COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is designed to train your staff on the most effective way to operate the IONSCAN 500DT, 600, Sabre, and or 400B Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems. These systems are used to identify traces of explosives and narcotics at security checkpoints. This interactive classroom and the hands-on course teach the student how the system works to identify traces of explosives and narcotics. Each student will learn the core parts of the Smiths ETD system. In addition, each student will learn the correct technique for taking samples, how to analyze samples, and how to clear contamination from the system and screening area.
The course is a combination of classroom and hands-on training and will include practical exercises on the ETD system. Students will get to see test actual samples of explosives with our ETD training kit.
Instructor travel is not included in this price and will be quoted separately. All travel cost are based on US GOV perdiem and State Dept rates.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: None
EQUIPMENT: Must have access to sites x-ray system for hand-ons and practical exercises
TESTING: Written-test and practical exercise the system
CERTIFICATE: Certificate of Training for Smiths Detection ETD operations
