COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to introduce the student to the Smith X-ray machine. It includes the use, X-ray theory, safety considerations, operation, calibration, testing, and scanning procedures. The classroom instruction and student-centered learning environment will provide the basis for the development of the effective use of the X-ray machine. The second part of this course is designed to introduce the student to X-ray Interpretation at a checkpoint. It includes the identification of various Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) components such as batteries, initiators, explosives, and switches. It also includes the identification of prohibited items such as knives, guns, cameras, cell phones, and liquids. The classroom instruction and student-centered learning environment will provide the basis of knowledge for effective X-ray interpretation.
This course is very effective at improving your security staff's ability to detect threats and provides you with actual performance measurements that detail how effective your security operations are at detecting threats.
Course cost does NOT includes instructor travel and will be quoted separately and is based on GSA per Diem rates.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: Must be familiar with the checkpoint screening equipment
EQUIPMENT: Must have access to facilities screening equipment, SOP, and emergency action plan
TESTING: Written-test
CERTIFICATE: Certificate of Training for Rapiscan Systems x-ray Operation and image interpretation
