Students will also be presented with IED components are hard to identify angles in a cluttered bag\/package. The course will also cover how to use the material discrimination imaging feature and how it can provide the Bomb Technician more information than a grey scale image. The course will cover how different IED component and threats will respond in a material discrimination image to include organics, inorganic, and metals. The course is a mixture of classroom and hands on training and is 8 hours long. The course requires that you have an x-ray unit with the material discrimination capability (Dual energy).  This course will not cover RSP's and will only focus on interpreting x-ray images for IED threats in cluttered backgrounds.
