COURSE: Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Awareness Training Course

LENGTH:  8 hours (morning session 4 hours and afternoon session 4 hours)

TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE (TLO):

TLO#1: The students will learn how to respond to WMD event and follow your facilities emergency action plan (EAP).

ENABLING LEARNING OBJECTIVES (ELO’S):

EPO #1:  Identify WMD signs and indicators

EPO #2:  Define building WMD EAP plan

EPO #3:  Describe a Nuclear WMD event

EPO #4:  Describe a Chemical WMD event

EPO #5:  Describe a Biological WMD event

EPO # 6: Describe WMD detection technologies

EPO #6:  Conduct WMD  training drills

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to introduce the student to their role and responses during a WMD event in your facility. This course is tailored for your building tenants and follows your building's Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and reinforces what you tenants should do in the event of a WMD incident.

This course is very effective at improving your building tenant’s ability to respond to a WMD event and is an ideal annual training course for your facility.

The instructor travel cost is NOT included in the course and will be quoted separately. Travel cost is based on GSA perdiem rates

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: N/A

EQUIPMENT: Must have access to facilities SOP, and emergency action plan

TESTING: Written-test

CERTIFICATE: Certificate of Training for active shooter awareness training

INSTRUCTION QUALIFICATION:

• Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Certified Instructor
• FEMA WMD certified
• S. Marshal (retired) or Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician
• Completed Inter-agency Security Committee (ISC) training and certifications
